Is there a way to determine if ad is blank?

I'm implementing ads and am getting a successfully loaded ad callback but sometimes the ad is also showing blank and there are multiple

W/PicturePileLayerContent﹕ Warning: painting PicturePile without content!

In the logs.

Is this a situation where I should actually be trying to get an ad showing?

Should this be an error (onAdFailedToLoad) for ads instead of a success (onAdLoaded)?

Is there a way to know if the ad is blank so I could not show an empty space?

Please let me know about any additional information needed to debug.

I'm using google play services 4.2.42 with a DFP PublisherAdView.

The newest version also fixed an large amount of ANRs that were being generated by DFP in the earlier version.

Hi Wiilliam,

Can you post additional logs that you're getting? I'd expect to see some more relevant logging from the Ads tag.
